Ashley Stachon was unanimously voted in on July 19, 2025

Ashley Stachon is a Bay Area native with over 20 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, strategic development, grant writing, and operations. Her career has been centered around building strong, sustainable systems - whether through supporting community health initiatives, managing mission-driven organizations, or securing funding to expand access to vital services.

Ashley is also the co-founder of a local yoga studio, Metta Mama, that supports new and expecting mothers. She is passionate about teaching prenatal and postnatal yoga, providing educational opportunities for parents, and creating meaningful community connections during this truly transformative time. She believes in building strong foundations for health, starting with families and expanding outward to the systems that nourish us all. As a mother with elementary aged children in the local school district, she is deeply committed to food equity, environmental sustainability, and foundational health starting in early childhood. She is passionately guided by the belief that true health is built through the integration of personal wellness, environmental stewardship, and our deep, innate connection to the earth.

Ashley is proud to support Sanzuma Farms in its mission to transform local food systems, strengthen school nutrition programs, and improve community wellness.

Sanzuma switched gears during COVID and donated everything we grew and an additional 30,000 pounds of produce that we bought from local farmers. The produce went to the most at-risk families we could find! From May 15, 2020 - April 02, 2020 Sanzuma has delivered  70,000 pounds of  organic food to approx. 22,419 people.

Sanzuma has had a fiscal sponsor since 2015. We are proud to announce that we are officially a 501C3 (nonprofit).
We have one of the most amazing boards! We are very proud the introduce them to you in our about us page.

After designing and managing Community Action Marin's farm program for three years, they have flown the coop and are managing it themselves. Congrats to CAM for doing a great job growing organic food for your students.
